Appointed District Attorney Will Dixon to Seek Election

March 5, 2019

Appointed Navarro County District Attorney William Dixon has announced his intention to run for election in the March 3, 2020 Republican primary.

Dixon filed his appointment of his wife Susie Dixon as his Campaign Treasurer Wednesday, February 27, by a candidate form with Navarro County Elections Administrator Daniel Teed.  This allows Dixon to officially begin campaigning and collecting contributions.

In October 2019, Dixon said he will register for the primary with the Navarro County Republican Party.  “I’m pleased to announce my candidacy for election as District Attorney in 2020,” Dixon said.  “I’m grateful to have the support of the Thompson family, and I intend to continue with Lowell Thompson’s vision.”

Dixon said his office has a great team in place.  “We believe in seeking professionals.  I look forward to continue working with them and strengthening our office’s relationship with all the law enforcement agencies in Navarro County.  I want the public to know that I value their input and our office is always open to them.”

Navarro County District Attorney Will Dixon sworn-in by Judge Lagomarsino

Governor Greg Abbott appointed Dixon in January as the Navarro County Criminal District Attorney to serve the unexpired term of R. Lowell Thompson.  The Texas Senate confirmed his appointment February 20 and he was sworn in by 13th District Court Judge James Lagomarsino.

Dixon’s term is set to expire December 31, 2020.  The November general election will be for a two-year term in order to get the District Attorney’s election back on its regular schedule.
