September 27, 2014
I would like to personally invite you and your county's Party activists to attend next month’s North Texas Conservative Strategy and Victory Conference, which is being organized by the Denton County Republican Party and sponsored by several of our GOP clubs/organizations.

As conservatives, patriots, and as Texans, we have “drawn our line in the sand” and are committed to securing a conservative future, not only for Texas, but the nation as well.
We will have an amazing array of conservative speakers on Saturday, Sept. 27 who will cover topics ranging from Obamacare to pro-life/pro-family issues, and including today’s hot topics of border security, religious freedoms and more.

Dan Patrick Fundraiser in Waxahachie

October 1, 2014
Come join us Wednesday, October 1 at 7:00 pm at a fundraiser for our next Lieutenant. Governor
Dan Patrick
Dan needs our help because the Democrats are putting a lot of money into the Lt. Governor's race in hopes of electing Leticia Van De Putte to that position, which would be disasterous for Texas.

Jobs Report Is Worst Of The Year And A Big Disappointment
Jobs Report Is Worst Of The Year And A Big Disappointment
The economy created only 143,000 jobs in August, making Friday’s jobs report the worst of the year. It did not meet expectations and was greeted as a “big disappointment.” Economists expected over 200,000 jobs. The unemployment rate ticked down to 6.1% from 6.2% but the Labor Force Participation Rate declined to 62.8% from 62.9%. 9.6 million Americans are still unemployed. 19 million total are unemployed, are underemployed, or have given up looking for work.

Democrats have been telling Americans that the economy is strong. This jobs report shows we’re still underperforming. Policies like ObamaCare are holding us back. As Chairman Priebus said, “Is this really the best we can do?... Republicans in the House of Representatives have passed 43 jobs bills, but Senate Democrats and the president are ignoring those bills. The unemployed deserve a vote, and if Harry Reid won’t allow one, then Americans deserve new leadership in the Senate.”

Obama On ISIS: "We Don't Have A Strategy Yet"
Obama On ISIS: “We Don’t Have A Strategy Yet”
On Thursday afternoon, President Obama gave a press conference and discussed foreign policy, including the threat of ISIS. Despite the growing conflict and instability in the region, the president said, “We don’t have a strategy yet” to deal with ISIS. As CNN’s Barbara Starr said, “ISIS heard all of this. So the president of the United States says we have no strategy yet. This is a little surprising.”

It’s shocking that the president would signal to our enemies that we don’t have a strategy. Doesn’t that violate his “Don’t do stupid stuff” rule? It’s also amazing that he would admit to the American people that his administration doesn’t know the way forward on such a major threat to global stability. The president spent the last month on vacation, but it seems like he’s still vacationing from his job. Once again, we’re witnessing the effects of the failed Obama-Clinton foreign policy.

State Party Chair Steve Munisteri Update -- August 2014

August 31, 2014
We are very fortunate to have Greg Abbott as the top of our ticket and Commissioner Craddick as the head of our Victory efforts as they are proving to be an effective one-two punch to the Democrats' efforts to turn the state blue. This is my third election cycle as Chairman and the cooperation and assistance the RPT has received from the Abbott campaign is unprecedented. In addition to General Abbott assisting the party with raising money so that we have vigorous Victory effort, his team is also genuinely concerned with helping out the rest of the ticket. They have made it clear they want the RPT and the Victory Committee to have the resources we need to get out the vote and promote straight party ticket voting so that we can maintain majorities in the State House and Senate.

U.S. Congressman Joe Barton Town Hall Meeting -- Aug 26, 2014

U.S. Congressman Joe Barton Town Hall Meeting 2014

By Bob Belcher - Corsicana Daily Sun
Town Hall topics include immigration, DC politics

A lively discussion on immigration reform and the political strife between Republicans and Democrats were the main topics of conversation at Tuesday’s Town Hall meeting hosted by U.S. Rep. Joe Barton (R-Ennis) at Corsicana’s Government Center.

A handful of people protesting Barton’s stance on immigration reform were outside city hall when Barton arrived. The congressman invited them into the government center to take part in the event. Barricades set up for crowd control in front of the government center proved to be unnecessary.

Waller, 51, will replace Kirby Hill on the ballot, following Hill’s resignation in June to go into private business. Hill was unopposed in the March 2014 primary.

Voting Made Easier -- Proposal Would Eliminate Single Precinct Polling Places

By Janet Jacobs - Corsicana Daily Sun
Corsicana — It’s not unusual for voters to suddenly rush into the courthouse on election night right before the 7 p.m. cutoff, only to be turned away, unable to vote because their precinct is too far away to make it before the polls close. That could become a thing of the past, though. Navarro County is applying to the state to allow county-wide voting, which lets voters cast a ballot at any polling place, regardless of an individual’s home precinct. A new county-wide voting system would let voters cast a ballot at any polling place on election day, eliminating the need to drive to a specific precinct to vote.
