Choose Life

This weekend, thousands of Americans in cities across the country took to the streets with signs in protest of injustice and violence; in support of equality and love. They marched with their friends, their families, all echoing the same message…

Of course, another series of marches took place across America. True, their signs also called for justice and the end to violence. For equality for women. But their call to action had a stark and somber contrast, demanding abortion on demand and without apology.

How can they reconcile that point of view?

The differences in the two marches could not be more pronounced. The hypocrisy on display at the so-called Women’s March was profound: there is no justice for those innocent lives taken by abortion. There is no equality for those children, as minority children in the US and females worldwide in the womb are at a much higher risk of death. And the end to violence? Abortion at its very core is a violent act—violence against the most vulnerable, violence against the innocent and voice-less.

As a Texas Republican, I am unashamedly pro-life. I seek not only to save the lives of the unborn, but to support the mothers in their decision to keep their children. Because it isn’t a choice—it’s a life. The Republican Party of Texas not only affirms the value of innocent life from conception to natural death, we made the abolition of abortion a legislative priority in the state.

Today is the 45th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Roe vs. Wade decision. While Americans marched this weekend, the abortion clock continued to tick… more than 50 million abortions have occurred in the US alone since this date in 1973. When will Americans say enough is enough?

On behalf of the millions of lives that have been ended before they began, I ask you to join together with us in prayer for both babies and mothers on this solemn day. I also ask you to make a stand for LIFE today on social media. Let them hear your voice… if we don’t speak out for the voices that have been silenced, who will? Let ours be the pro-life generation!
