Republican Party of Navarro County — A Voice For All Republicans

Republican Party of Navarro County Chair Eric R. Meyers

As we approach a crucial election on November 6, I want to take a moment to remind everyone how important each and every vote will be.  We are facing challenges from the left that must be met head on.  With a barrage of attacks through the mainstream media, Republicans have been forced to be on defense for many baseless claims.  From national races to local races, the public has been polarized by numerous claims from the left leading some to question their positions regarding the vote in the November election.  Here are a few things to consider:

The principles set forth by the GOP are simple.  Our Constitution should be preserved, valued and honored.  We need to start growing the America’s economy instead of Washington’s economy so that hard-working Americans see better wages and more opportunity.  We need to pass a Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution, make government more efficient, and leave the next generation with opportunity, not debt.

We need to start over with real healthcare reform that puts patients and their doctors in charge, not unelected bureaucrats in Washington.  Our veterans have earned our respect and gratitude, and no veteran should have to wait in line for months or years just to see a doctor.  Keeping America safe and strong requires a strong military, growing economy, energy independence and secure borders.

Every child should have an equal opportunity to get a great education; no parent should be forced to send their child to a failing school.  The best anti-poverty program is a strong family and a good job, so our focus should be on getting people out of poverty by lifting up all people and helping them find work.

We should make America energy independent by encouraging investment in domestic energy, lowering prices and creating jobs at home.  We need an immigration system that secures our borders, upholds the law and boosts our economy.  Most importantly, our country should value the traditions of family, life, religious liberty and hard work.

The Republican Party is fulfilling its promise to the American people.  On average, President Trump has added 82,000 more jobs per month than President Obama.  Wage growth has soared at its fastest pace since the Great Recession, and the unemployment rate held “near a generational low” of 3.9 percent.  Unemployment remains historically low, as the number of Americans filing for unemployment hit its lowest point since 1969.  Consumer confidence rose to an 18-year high, and economic activity in the U.S. manufacturing sector hit its highest level since May 2004.  Small business owners continue to have “unprecedented” confidence in the American economy.  All of this is occurring despite the numerous attacks by the left, and instead of solutions, we continue to hear constant chatter of how the Democrats plan to increase taxes to pay for more social programs that simply will not work.

The Republican Party of Navarro County continues to grow.  Our mission is simple.  As Republicans, we want to continue to see our county, state, and great nation prosper and grow.  By putting aside minor differences, we continue to see party unity and support all of the GOP candidates on the ballot this November.  The Republican Party holds the value that all conservatives have a voice and a welcoming door in our local Party.  You will find some of the best Precinct Chairs and party officers who are willing to work hard to make sure your voice is clearly heard.

We have several upcoming events that we invite the public to attend.

From 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm on October 6, er will be hosting a GOP Rally at our headquarters located at 111-B West Third Avenue in Corsicana.  Candidates and elected officials will be on hand to answer your questions and talk about their plans as your GOP elected candidates.

Navarro County GOP will have a booth at the Kerens Cotton Harvest Festival from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on October 20.  This is a wonderful community event, and we certainly would like to invite you to stop by, meet some of our candidates, and pick up signs for your candidates.

Our next scheduled Party Meeting will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm November 12 with special guest speaker Congressman Joe Barton.  Barton will be presenting an election recap and his thoughts on issues facing our country.

On November 16, there will be a special training session that is open to the public from Gun Owners of America’s Rachel Malone.  Rachel will be talking about the critical importance of learning to engage your legislature and how to testify in different hearings.

We are proud to announce our annual Reagan Day Dinner will be held on March 2, 2019 with special speaker Karl Rove.  Stay tuned for additional special gusts and registration information.

As I close with you today, I simply ask you this.  Take the time and vote in the upcoming election.  All of the work that is being done to better our county, state and country must continue under GOP leadership.  Take the time to learn the issues that we truly face, and the choice is clear.  We must #KEEPTEXASRED!  As always, you can follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram at @navgop.  Our website also contains updates that include issues, events, and contacts for your local Republican Party of Navarro County.
