Navarro County Precinct #2 Constable David Foreman has been elected as an Alternate to the 2020 Republican National Convention , to be held August 24-27 in Jacksonville, Florida. The election was held during the U.S. Congressional District 6 Caucus at the On-Line Republican State Convention on Saturday July 18, 2020. The Republican Party Of Navarro County Headquarters was set-up as a virtual convention site.
Foreman secured the third and last Alternate seat, in a manner similar to the 2016 CD6 Caucus. With endorsement speeches from his fellow Navarro County Republicans, Foreman captured the most votes (43%) in a three-person race, then maintained his lead during the run-off election (55%) against two Ellis County people. His previous experience from the 2016 National Convention, where he filled a vacancy and stood-up to the liberal media, earned him the trust of the CD6 Caucus, as a principled conservative, to return there again.
“I am extremely honored and humbled to be elected again as an Alternate delegate to the Republican National Convention,” said Foreman. “I will represent our district, as well as Navarro County, the best I can, in this national historical event. Our country’s values of honesty, family, & freedom are being attacked by Marxism and socialism. I believe the re-election of President Donald Trump is essential to reclaiming our country back for the people. I will attend every caucus and every meeting on the convention floor. Thanks to all the members of Congressional District 6, who helped me get elected.”
The following evening, Corsicana City Councilman Chris Woolsey chaired the State Senate District 22 Caucus of the On-Line Republican State Convention, where Lieutenant Colonel Allen B. West was voted as the new State Party Chair.
