Nineteenth Amendment Centennial Celebration

August 18, 1920

One hundred years ago today, the deciding vote was cast by a Republican lawmaker in the Tennessee State House on a Republican introduced Senate Bill, that would change the course of American history forever.  August 18, 1920 saw the 36th state ratify the 19th Amendment, paving the way for women’s suffrage in the United States of America.

The Republican Party of Navarro County celebrates 100 years of the passage of the 19th Amendment.  This was a momentous day in history, as we continue to salute our conservative women leaders across the state and nation and a woman’s right to vote!
