Saturday March 26, 2022 The Republican Party of Navarro County will hold its County Convention on Saturday March 26, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Navarro County District Courtroom (second floor), 300 West Third Avenue, in downtown Corsicana. Delegates and Alternates elected at precinct conventions held in March 5 are the only individuals qualified to vote at the county convention. Anyone may attend the convention as a guest. Casual Dress is the attire for convention. By Mark Archibald — Corsicana Daily Sun May 18, 2021 Hershel “Woody” Williams, the last Medal of Honor recipient to have served in World War II, visited Corsicana over the weekend. Williams was in town to dedicate the Gold Star Family Memorial Monument on the grounds of the Navarro County Courthouse Saturday May 15. A flyover of the event was conducted by members of the Commemorative Air Force’s Coyote Squadron. Larry Bailey
May 16, 1946 – February 18, 2021 Larry Lee Bailey of Rice, Texas, passed away from this life on February 18, 2021 at the age of 74. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Larry was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church and later First Baptist Church of Rice, where he became Deacon for the church. Larry was Vice President on the school board when the Rice Elementary School was built, which is now serving as the City Hall.
